Chef Reyes serves us his popular Filet Mignon Tacos served with his signature twist. His goal is to take more of an upscale approach to the traditional comfort foods that everyone loves so much. Benaddiction: This Rock and Roll inspired breakfast hot spot is located in NW Fresno, Ca. Today we get an inside look at the eggs benedict titled, “Alive” which is a delicious and hearty vegetarian option. Chef James Caples named the “Alive” after the song from Pearl Jam. The lead singer, Eddie Vedder, is a vegetarian, so this is James’ way of paying tribute to him. If you are looking for a great breakfast place with an even better vibe, this is the place to try!
Casa De Tamales: We are in the lovely Downtown Fresno again for this delicious episode of Fresno Flavor! Staying true to the traditional masa and fresh milled corn, Liz, the owner, adds a little spin to get some different flavor options. She prepares one of her signature tamales, as well as a carnitas taco for Jason to try. See for yourself why this place should be on your list of “places to try”!
Chef Paul’s Cafe: We take a trip to the Chinatown District in Downtown Fresno for this episode of Fresno Flavor. Chef Paul is enthusiastic about his food, and offers fun historical facts of what is behind the Braised Oxtail dish that Jason gets to enjoy for this episode. This awesome and upbeat place offers a “build your own burger” type of set up. Jason tries the popular California Burger. He gets to see for himself how they prepare this delicious favorite. In this episode, Jason has a special guest, his son AJ, try it and tell us what he thinks!

One of the many things that makes Rocket Dog so special, is that they utilize their neighbors, and take advantage of the awesome places we have here in Fresno, Ca. For example, they get their bread from Max’s Bistro, and their sausage from Fresno State. Limon: This first ever episode of Fresno Flavor Jason takes on Limón. This Peruvian Fusion style restaurant is highlighted for their most popular dish, “Lomo Saltado”. This is a classic Peruvian dish which features marinated sirloin, sauteed with onions and tomatoes which tops off a plate of rice and french fries! Jason also gets to play “bartender” for a bit behind the bar and learns how to make a “Pisco Sour” which is the classic cocktail in Peru.
